The dental educator, Marjorie A. Willis, has been teaching/training dental assistants in all phases of dental assisting for more than 25 years. Since retirement from her full time-position (Director of A.I. Prince Dental Assisting Education Program) in 2003, Ms. Willis has developed and offered an Exam Preparation course for the Radiation Health and Safety Examination. Successful completion of the RHS Examination administered by DANB** (see below) is required by the State of Connecticut for dental assistants who expose patients to ionizing radiation (dental x-rays).
Due to the overwhelming positive response from those who completed the RHS Exam Prep course, a second course has been developed and is now being offered: Exam Preparation for the Infection Control Examination. While this is currently NOT required by the State of Connecticut, it may be proposed as a requirement in future legislation as it is a public safety issue.
